Title: Into the Drowning Deep

Author: Mira Grant

Genre: Science Fiction/Horror

Publisher: Orbit

Rating: 5 Stars!

Synopsis: Seven years ago, the Atargatis set off on a voyage to the Mariana Trench to film a “mockumentary” bringing to life ancient sea creatures of legend. It was lost at sea with all hands. Some have called it a hoax; others have called it a maritime tragedy.

Now, a new crew has been assembled. But this time they’re not out to entertain. Some seek to validate their life’s work. Some seek the greatest hunt of all. Some seek the truth. But for the ambitious young scientist Victoria Stewart this is a voyage to uncover the fate of the sister she lost.

Whatever the truth may be, it will only be found below the waves. But the secrets of the deep come with a price.

Review: This was such an entertaining read! I literally could not put it down or stop talking about it when I was forced to put it down. It was suspenseful and terrifying. The mermaids are not the beautiful creatures Disney has led us to believe all these years. They are monsters and not something you want to encounter while out at sea. I certainly won’t be going into open waters any time soon. If you are a fan of science-fiction, mythology, or horror, you need to pick this book up!

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Orbit for sending me an ARC of this book to review!
