So, as a lover of lists and all things books, I wanted to start a weekly feature here on the blog where I talk about 5 things in a category. Maybe it’ll inspire your weekend reading, or be that encouragement you need to pick up a new genre! I also plan to talk about my other loves, tea, candles and maybe some other bookish products you didn’t know you needed. So stay tuned, as I have LOTS of ideas!
For my first 5 for Friday, I want to talk about 5 great books that you can read in one sitting. I tried to pick books from different categories so if you’re not into graphic novels, or sci-fi, there’s still something for you here!
River of Teeth by Sarah Gailey– This one was SO FUN. It’s a sci-fi-ish historical fiction Wild West story with hippos. What else needs to be said?
The Prince and the Dressmaker by Jen Wang– The is one of the most adorable graphic novels ever. It’s about a prince that likes to wear fancy dresses and the girl who he hires to design them for him. So clever and the illustrations are just gorgeous.
Paintbrush by Hannah Bucchin–This is a cute YA contemporary read about, Josie, a girl who has grown up in a commune. When the community is hit with a secret, Josie is forced to face decisions about her future.
The Forgotten Book by Mechthild Gläser– Another YA, but this time about a girl at boarding school who finds a book that has magical abilities. Of course, these kinds of things come with a price and Emma finds herself in danger from someone else who knows about the book.
The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins– Ok, I realize everyone has heard of this one and it’s no big surprise, but I just love a good thriller. I read this book in one sitting because I just could not put it down and I needed to know what happened next!
That’s it for today! What are some books that you’ve read in one sitting? Have you read any of these?
